Hanoi, (VNA) – National Assembly deputies hope the newly-elected Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc will continue taking the fight against corruption and wastefulness as one of his priorities.

Deputy Le Nhu Tien of the central province of Quang Tri said despite some progress in the fight against corruption and wastefulness in recent years, the results achieved have not satisfied voters.

He hoped the new PM could use his experience in handling internal issues in fighting corruption and crimes to make Vietnam a safe country, serving socio-economic development.

Deputy Nguyen Thai Hoc of the southern coastal province of Phu Yen called on the new PM to take drastic actions and mobilise the whole political system into fighting corruption.

Tran Du Lich, a deputy of Ho Chi Minh City, said he expected the new PM to step up the administrative reform, which he said is also a solution to fight corruption.

ꩲ “The administrative system comprises three components: administrative institutions, organisational apparatus, and human resources. I think human resources are the most important. With experience and efforts the PM gained in the field, I hope for clearer results,” Lich said.-VNA
