Hanoi (VNA) – Delegations from LatinAmerican and Middle Eastern embassies in Hanoi led by Venezuelan AmbassadorJorge Rondon Uzcategui, laid wreaths and paid tribute to late President Ho Chi Minh at his Mausoleum on December 17.

The activity was held to commemorate the 187th death anniversary of Venezuela’snational liberation hero Simon Bolivar, and pay honour to the great Vietnamese leader,contributing to tightening the friendship between Vietnam and Latin Americannations.

Simon Bolivar (1783-1830) was the greatest leader of LatinAmerica's independence movement in the beginning of the 19th century. The struggle led by himhelped six countries - Venezuela, Colombia, Panama, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia –gain independence from Spain.-VNA
