HCM City (VNA) – The Ho Chi Minh City Unionof Friendship Organisation (HUFO) on November 28 held a ceremony to mark the 43rd anniversary of Laos’National Day (December 2).
In her remarks, Nguyen Thi My Tien, Vice President of theVietnam-Laos Friendship Association’s HCM City chapter, highlighted theclose-knit relations between the two countries during the past struggle fornational independence as well as the present national construction andprotection.
The traditional friendship, special solidarity andcomprehensive cooperation have been an invaluable asset shared by the twonations, she said.
Tien congratulated the Lao people on achievements they haverecorded over the past time under the leadership of the Lao People’sRevolutionary Party and affirmed that Vietnam and HCM City in particular willwork together with Laos to cultivate the relationship.
Echoing Tien’s views, Lao Consul General to HCM City SomxaySanamoune said the Vietnam-Laos special solidarity and comprehensivecooperation have been deepened across fields, bringing pragmatic benefits toboth sides.
The Lao people will join hands with their Vietnamese friendsto preserve and promote the relations, he pledged.-VNA
The Vietnam Administration of Forestry (VNFOREST) and the Lao Department of Forestry Inspection (DOFI) sat down in the central province of Ha Tinh on October 30 to review their cooperation in forestry law enforcement.
A conference was held in Dong Hoi city, in the central province of Quang Binh, on November 13 to look into the implementation of certain documents on the Vietnam-Laos borderline, border markers, and border gates.
