HCMCity (VNA) – The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations and HoChi Minh City’s Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association on November 30 held ameeting to mark the 41st anniversary of Laos’ National Day (December2).
Addressingthe function, Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Huynh Cach Mangsaid December 2, 1975 ushered in a new era for Laos to become a country ofpeace, independence, democracy, unification and prosperity that hasconstructively contributed to peace, stability, cooperation and development inthe region and the world at large.
CongratulatingLaos on its great achievements over the past time, the official stressed thatVietnamese and citizens in HCM City in particular will do their utmost topreserve and strengthen the Vietnam-Laos special relationship.
SomxaySanamoune, Lao Consul General in HCM City, affirmed that the great friendship,special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos havethrived over the past 41 years despite complex regional and global situations,becoming an invaluable asset of both nations.

A senior Laotian diplomat has expressed his thanks to the Vietnamese people and government on behalf of his country, for their valuable support to Laos during its struggle for national liberation and its current development process.
Lao expatriates are likely to enjoy a longer stay in their home country according to a draft decree issued by the Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Overseas Relations Department.
