Vientiane (VNA) –
The Mini🍸stry ofHome Affairs of Laos will join hands with relevant agencies to implement legaldocu🎃ments related to the issuance of ID cards for civil servants and officials.

Designed tosimplify life for officials, the new smart card is in line with thegovernment’s policy to modernise the management of the civilservice.   Accordingly, the Lao Government will combinesocial security and ATM cards as one. The move aims to regulate the number of Laocivil servants in ministries and departments at central and provincial levels. Under thissystem, authorities can scrutinise precise information pertaining to officialsemployed by the government and add new data every quarter.  Discrepancieswill soon be addressed under the new system as the government is keen to movetowards transparency in civil servant management.  It is alsoessential for State departments to routinely inspect and update civil servantnumbers, in order to rectify and regulate the number of officials beingreported. –VNA
