Coffee exports reached their peak in 2013 with 30,000 tonnes and were valued at 72 million USD.
Total coffee exports decreased to 26,000 tonnes at an estimated value of 60 million USD in 2014 and continually fell to 23,000 tonnes valued at 50 million USD in 2015.
In Laos, coffee is mainly grown in Champassak province and is one of the country' top export earners.
Over the past years, the LCA has boosted the expansion of coffee plantations in Sekong, Salavan, and Attapeu provinces, as well as help growers seek new markets.
In addition, the association collaborated with relevant offices to organise annual coffee festivals with the aim to build a brand name for Lao coffee.-VNA
