Hanoi (VNA) – General Secretary of the Lao People’s RevolutionaryParty and President of Laos Bounnhang Vorachith hosted a reception in Hanoi on October 29 for a delegation of formerVietnamese voluntary soldiers and experts in Laos.

The Lao leaderis on a Vietnam visit to attend the ceremony to mark the 70th Traditional Dayof Vietnamese Volunteer Soldiers and Experts in Laos.

At the reception, Bounnhang Vorachith praisedthe great contributions made by Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts toLaos’ struggle for national independence in the past and the nationalconstruction and development at present.

He affirmed that Laos will work together with Vietnam to foster the everlastinggreat friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between thetwo countries.

However hard it may be, the two sides will coordinate closely to protecttheir ties like the pupil of their eyes, and will educate future generations onthe special solidarity, the Lao leader said.

Head of the national liaison committee for former Vietnamese voluntarysoldiers and experts in Laos Major Huynh Dac Huong said the two nations sharedall the victories, and should continue to preserve their solidarity forsustainable development.

Host and guests shared memories on the days Vietnamese volunteersoldiers and experts fought side by side with Lao armed forces and people./.
