Lao nationals in Son La granted Vietnamese citizenship
As many as 88 Lao nationals currently residing in the north-western province of Son La were granted Vietnamese citizenship during a ceremony held in the province on September 18.

Son La (VNA) –As many as 88 Lao nationals currently residing in the north-western province ofSon La were granted Vietnamese citizenship during a ceremony held in the provinceon September 18.
In pursuant to Decision No. 1372dated August 14, 2019 of President Nguyen Phu Trong, the Vietnamese citizenshipwas offered to Lao nationals in Long Sap, Chieng Son, Chieng Khua communes ofMoc Chau district.
At the event, Chairman ofthe People’s Committee of Moc Chau district Pham Duc Chinh said localauthorities will create optimal conditions for them to take part insocio-economic activities, thereby contributing to the province’s development.
On behalf of the citizenship recipients, Vang Thi Pa from Long Sapcommune vowed to comply with Vietnam’s policies and laws.
The newly-recognisedVietnamese citizens will be helpedwith procedures such as the application for birth certificates, identity cards,and marriage registration documents.
From now until October 15,an additional 200 Lao nationals living in the province will be grantedVietnamese citizenship, in line with the Vietnamese and Lao Governments’agreement on addressing undocumented migration and marriage in the sharedborder regions./.
In international relations, there are not many relationships as special, solid and loyal as between Vietnam and Laos. This story will further illustrate the special ties between the two nations.
Representatives from the central province of Quang Nam and Laos’s Sekong province had a working session in Tam Ky city on August 22 to discuss coordination in conducting a survey on undocumented migration and marriage in their border areas.
As many as 119 Lao nationals living in Vietnam were granted Vietnamese citizenship certificates during a ceremony held in the central province of Quang Tri on December 12.
As many as 17 Lao nationals living in Dak Glei district of the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum were granted Vietnamese citizenship certificates during a ceremony on May 21.

In recent decades, Vietnam’s mainstream media has become a reliable and persuasive channel for showcasing the nation’s development policies and achievements, especially in economic matters, according to a senior assistant editor at the Times of India.
A hub for sharing best practices, the event aims to forge solutions for financial sustainability, public media contracts, audience engagement, content innovation, and newsroom restructuring. It is also a moment for Vietnam’s media to accelerate its progress and figure out what the “revolutionary press” means in a new era.
From “Thanh nien”, Vietnam’s first revolutionary newspaper founded by Nguyen Ai Quoc (later President Ho Chi Minh) on June 21, 1925, the revolutionary press has remained devoted to its sacred missions -accompanying the nation, serving the Fatherland, and working for the people.
