Vientiane (VNA) – Lao news outlets have devoted their front pages to articles praisingthe success and outcomes of the official friendship visit to Laos by PartyGeneral Secretary and President of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong from February 24-25.

They include Pasaxon –the mouthpiece of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP), Pathetlao of theLao News Agency, Vientiane Times, and Laophatthana.

The articlesunderlined the talks between the two Party and State leaders, during which theyexchanged notes on cooperation orientations to bring the bilateral specialrelations to a new height, together with the outcomes of the meetings betweenTrong, Lao Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith, and Chairwoman of the NationalAssembly Pany Yathotou.

On February 26,Pathetlao published the full text of the joint statement between the twocountries, as well as an interview to the Lao media by Sounthone Xayachak, headof the LPRP Central Committee’s External Relations Commission, on the significantoutcomes of the visit for the bilateral friendship.

Xayachak stated thatTrong’s visit demonstrates the time-honoured friendship, special solidarity,and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, States, and peoples.

Thailand’s The Nationonline and printed versions also ran articles on the occasion of Trong’sofficial friendship visit to Laos and State visit to Cambodia from February25-26. –VNA
