Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on October 8 complimented Star Telecom (Unitel), a joint venture between Vietnam’s Viettel Global JSC and Lao Asia Telecom, on its effective operations over the past 15 years, contributing to socio-economic development and social security in Laos.
Politburo member and Permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Vo Van Thuong visited Star Telecom, a joint venture between Viettel Military Industry and Telecoms Group of Vietnam and Lao Asia Telecom, in Vientiane on July 19.
The telecommunication company Star Telecom (Unitel), a joint venture between Lao Asia Telecom and Viettel Global, received the Labour Order and a certificate of merit from the Lao State on the occasion of its 10th founding anniversary (April 1, 2008) in Vientiane on May 29.
The telecom giant Viettel has made extensive investment in Laos, building a telecom network reaching all corners of the country, turning the once expensive services into a common necessity.
