Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong spoke highly of the positive contributions made by Lao Ambassador to Vietnam Somphone Sichaleune to consolidating and enhancing the two countries’ relations while receiving the outgoing diplomat in Hanoi on September 30. The Party chief expressed his hope that in any new position, the ambassador would continue helping develop the bilateral special solidarity for the prosperity of each country and for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
He also congratulated Laos on its achievements, believing that under the leadership of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, the Lao people would reap more results during their nation-building and safeguarding cause, particularly the successful organisation of the 10 th National Party Congress in early 2016.
The ambassador thanked the Vietnamese Party, State, ministries and localities for helping him fulfil his tasks during his working tenure in the country. He said he did his utmost to develop the bilateral traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation and will continue contributing to nurturing the relations in any position.-VNA
