Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on December 22 attended the inauguration ceremony of the resettlement area projects in three villages of the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai which had been severely affected by flash floods and landslides caused by Typhoon Yagi in early September.
More than a week after the devastating flash flood in Lang Nu village, Phuc Khanh Commune, Bao Yen District, Lao Cai Province, the Primary and Secondary School Phuc Khanh No. 1 has welcomed its students back to class, including 107 students from Lang Nu village.
In the heavily affected village of Làng Nủ in Phuc Khanh commune, Bao Yen district, Lao Cai province, the priority, alongside ongoing search and rescue efforts, is to swiftly rebuild and help locals resettle after the floods. Bao Yen district is actively working on establishing a resettlement area for the affected community.
Intense efforts are underway to search and rescue victims of the severe flash flood and landslide in LangNu village, Phuc Khanh commune, Bao Yen district, Lao Cai province. As of 9:25 a.m. on September 12, the death toll in the disaster is 46, the number of injured is 17; 55 people are still missing, while 46 people have been confirmed safe.
