All the victims were in Phong Tho district.
In response to the situation, the provincial authorities have timely deployed forces to overcome disaster aftermaths.
The authorities of Phong Tho district provided each victim family with4.5 million VND, while the provincial Red Cross, 2 million VND.
According to Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee LeTrong Quang, the province has directed the Committees of Storm and FloodPrevention of all districts to warn locals of the risk of disasters,while continuously and promptly updating information to minimiseconsequences.
As heavy rains continue to fall inmany localities, the local authorities have also outlined options toevacuate residents out of dangerous areas, he added.-VNA
