The event will feature many products ofVietnam’s famous coffee localities nationwide. It is viewed as an opportunityfor Vietnamese localities and businesses to promote their products to domesticand international consumers, raising the values of Vietnamese goods in theinternational market. An international conference on thedevelopment of Vietnam’s coffee sector is scheduled to be held at the event, withthe participation of representatives from many coffee producing countries and theChairman of the International Coffee Organisation (ICO). Lam Dong boasts coffee areas of nearly150,240ha and an output of about 430,000 tonnes per year.-VNA
Coffee prices in Vietnam have reached the highest level in six years owing to the shortage of export-qualified beans after the harvest was hit by rains.
The 2017-18 coffee crop is expected to yield around 1.4 million, which is equal to or slightly lower than last year’s harvest, according to the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association.
