Kuala Lumpur to attract 12 million tourists in 2016

Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – Malaysia’s capital city of Kuala Lumpur has planned to add new facilities and services in an attempt to attract 12 million international tourists in 2016.

City Mayor Datuk Seri Mhd Amin Nordin Abdul Aziz said services such as public transport, education, food and medical services would be improved to boost tourism in the city.

The city can be developed as a unique international brand in Asia due to its special features as a vibrant, clean, and safe city, he told reporters after attending a Kuala Lumpur Tourism Bureau Board of Directors meeting on February 16.

He also called on hotels, restaurants and transport operators to be more creative and innovative in developing their strategies to attract more foreign tourists to the city.
