Khanh Hoa: Three people test positive for A/H1N1

Three people in the central province of Khanh Hoa have tested positive for swine flu A/H1N1, said the province’s general hospital on February 14.

The trio, including one from Khanh Son districtand the others from Nha Trang city, are currently being treated at thehospital.

Earlier, a 30-year-old man in Nha Trang’s VinhThanh commune, became the first victim of swine flu H1N1in theprovince. He died on February 13 after eight days of treatment.

The same day, the provincial People’s Committee also announced thatmany cases of A/H5N1 bird flu have been discovered in Ninh Hoa town.

Given this situation, the committee assigned theprovincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to supervisethe implementation of preventive measures.

It hasalso sent an urgent notice to branches and localities in the province,requiring them to enhance the prevention and control of A/H7N9, a newstrain of bird flu.

A/H5N1 avian influenza has struck in Cam Lam and Dien Khanh district, with 12,000 fowls affected. All have been culled.-VNA

ꩵ Vietnam, France collaborate in vaccine production technology transfer

Under the agreement, VNVC and Sanofi will gradually implement technology transfers to enable domestic production of several key Sanofi vaccines that are widely used in Vietnam. In addition, Sanofi will support VNVC in training human resources and quality management in vaccine research and manufacturing.
