Singapore (VNA) – The development potential, strategic advantages, and investment orientation of Vietnam’s south-central coastal province of Khanh Hoa were introduced to potential Singaporean investors at an investment promotion conference held in the city state on May 28.

The event attracted around 250 delegates representing major domestic and international corporations, investors, experts, and media outlets. It also served as a platform for government leaders, business executives, and experts from both countries to exchange ideas, explore opportunities, and foster stronger cooperation.

The conference highlighted several successful investment projects previously implemented in Khanh Hoa by Singaporean and other international partners.

Provincial leaders reaffirmed their strong commitment to further improving the local investment climate by streamlining administrative procedures, reducing licensing times, increasing transparency, and providing the best possible conditions for businesses and investors.

Talking to the Vietnam News Agency, Nguyen Tan Tuan, Chairman of the Khanh Hoa provincial People’s Committee, emphasised the significance of the conference in boosting mutual understanding and promoting common development in a new era.

Khanh Hoa authorities and businesses are eager to access the Singaporean market, and also hope Singaporean investors will come to the province to bolster ties in various areas, he said.

The official noted that Khanh Hoa is prioritising the development of the maritime economy and renewable energy, inviting Singaporean businesses to explore investment opportunities in high-tech industries and sustainable energy solutions.

He added the province also aims to become a globally recognised tourism destination linked with clean industrial production and clean industrial cities.

On investment incentives, Tuan highlighted that the National Assembly has allowed Khanh Hoa, after the administrative unit merger, to continue implementing Resolution 55 to apply some special mechanisms in the Van Phong Economic Zone and the Cam Lam Airport urban area. He expressed his hope that both domestic and foreign strategic investors will choose these zones to develop real estate, luxury resorts, and modern urban projects.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Singapore Tran Phuoc Anh praised Khanh Hoa’s initiative in organising the event. He noted that the province offers vast and diverse investment potential, especially following its coming merger with neighbouring Ninh Thuan province, which will enhance its geographic footprint, population base, and labour capacity to support foreign-invested projects.

With the strong and growing ties between Vietnam and Singapore, Khanh Hoa has chosen the right time and place to host this event, Ambassador Anh continued, saying the significant turnout of Singaporean businesses reflects genuine interest from both sides.

Lennon Tan, Chairman of the Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF), described Khanh Hoa as an exciting new destination to explore emerging investment opportunities.

He said the SMF is particularly interested in sustainable manufacturing, ꦦand welcomed the prospect of direct flওights between Khanh Hoa and Singapore./.
