According to Luong Duc Hue, Chairman of the Suot Cat Commune People’sCommittee, two of the five-member family of Ho Tan Luc in Khanh Thanh Namvillage survived and escaped the collapsed house.
Rainfall averaging 30-50 mm hit Khanh Hoa on December 29 and 30 and 13irrigation reservoirs in the province had to discharge their water in anattempt to protect their safety and be ready to store water from forecast upcomingtorrential rains.
Meanwhile, in the central province of Phu Yen, floods swept away a manwho was crossing Phuc Loc spillway in Xuan Quang 3 commune on the night ofDecember 29.
The body of the victim, Nguyen Van Dong, was found on December 30.
As floods on rivers in Phu Yen are rising, irrigation and hydro-powerreservoirs continue to discharge their water, causing flooding in some roadsand residential areas in Xuan Son Bac and Xuan Quang 3 communes.
