Kazakhstan, Palestine send sympathy to Vietnam over flooding
President of Kazakhstan Kassym Tokayev, and President of the State of Palestine and Chairman of the Palestine Liberation Organisation Mahmoud Abbas sent messages of sympathy to Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong over serious flooding that caused human and material loss in the central region.

According tothe Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, floodingthat began on October 6 had killed 111 people and left 22 missing nationwide asof 7am on October 21. Some 371 ha of rice paddies have been submerged, 7,126 haof crops damaged, and over 700,000 heads of cattle and poultry killed or sweptaway.

The Premier of the State Council of China, Li Keqiang on October 22 sent a message of sympathy to Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc over the serious flooding in some provinces in central Vietnam that caused heavy losses on human lives and assets.
UNICEF will provide at least 100,000 USD in emergency relief to the central region which has been devastated by floods and landslides triggered by downpours over the past two weeks.
