Judoka brings home 13th ticket to 2024 Olympics

Female judoka Hoang Thi Tinh has brought the 13th ticket for Vietnam to the Paris 2024 Olympics after having excelling at the Lima Panamerican Open 2024 in Peru and earned sufficient points to secure a spot at the world sports event.

Hanoi (VNA) - Female judoka Hoang Thi Tinh has brought the 13th ticket for Vietnam to the Paris 2024 Olympics after having excelling at the Lima Panamerican Open 2024 in Peru and earned sufficient points to secure a spot at the world sports event.

By defeating her rivals from Chile and Guatemala, Tinh, ranked 98th in the world, advanced to the final in the women’s 48kg weight group.

She overcame Morand Priscilla of Mauritius, ranked 65th, in the final game and won a ticket to the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Among the 10 berths at the 2024 Olympics for Asian representatives in women's judo, Tinh ranks ninth with 213 points.

🌄 Before Tinh, 12 other Vietnamese athletes also made their way to the 2024 Olympics, namely swimmer Nguyen Huy Hoang, cyclist Nguyen Thi That, markswomen Trinh Thu Vinh and Le Thi Mong Tuyen, boxers Vo Thi Kim Anh and Ha Thi Linh, weightlifter Trinh Van Vinh, canoeist Nguyen Thi Huong, rower Pham Thi Hue, badminton players Le Duc Phat and Nguyen Thuy Linh, and archer Le Quoc Phong./.
