Jetstar Pacific increases flights to Guangzhou

Budget carrier Jetstar Pacific announced on May 16 that it will add more flights on two international routes between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City of Vietnam and Guangzhou of China to promote travel demand.

Hanoi (VNA) –🌃 Budget carrier JetstarPacific announced on May 16 that it will add more flights on two internationalroutes between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City of Vietnam and Guangzhou of China topromote travel demand.

Accordingly, each air route will have sevenflights per week, rising from the current four flights on Hanoi-Guangzhou andfive flights per week on HCM City-Guangzhou route, respectively. The additional services will be offered fromJuly 1 to October 26, 2018. Tickets are sold from 180,000 VND per leg,excluding taxes and fees, atthe airline’s website www.jetstar.com and ticketagents nationwide. Guangzhou isChina’s third largest city with a population of 14.5 million people. It isviewed as a famous economic hub and one of the biggest production centres ofChina and the world. Since JetstarPacific launched the first flight between Vietnam and Guangzhou in January 2017,the airline has served nearly 400,000 passengers. Statisticsfrom the airline showed that Vietnam received 1.7 million holidaymakers fromChina in the first four months of 2018, up 39.7 percent year-on-year. Vietnam hasbeen listed among 10 most favourite destinations of Chinese tourists, alongwith Thailand, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, the US and Italy, amongothers. According to areport of the Asian investment firm CLSA, the number of Chinese visitorstravelling abroad will surge to 200 million people by 2020. Spending of Chinesetourists rose from 73 billion USD in 2011 to 261 billion USD in 2016. Thefigure is expected to hit 429 billion by 2021. JetstarPacific is the first low-cost carrier of Vietnam. Vietnam Airlines and QantasAirlines are the main shareholders of the carrier.
