Hanoi (VNA) – Pꦉresident of Japan's House of Councilors Yamazaki Masaaki will pay an official visit to Vietnam from December 7ꦗ-10.

The visit is made at the invitation of Chairman of the Vietnam National Assembly Nguyen Sinh Hung, according to the NA’s Committee for External Relations.
Vietnam and Japan established diplomatic ties in 1973. Japan has become a top economic partner of Vietnam and is the country’s largest official donor, the second-largest foreign direct investor and the fourth-largest trading partner of Vietnam . It accounted for nearly 30 percent of the 90 billion USD in total official development assistance granted to Vietnam over the past 20 years.
In 2014, two-way trade between the two countries exceeded 27.6 billion USD. In the first half of this year, the figure reached 13.9 billion USD. With about 85,000 Vietnamese living in Japan and 11,200 Japanese in Vietnam , people-to-people and cultural exchange between the two countries is at its best ever.-VNA
