– Japan-based HorimasaCo. Ltd is seeking cooperation opportunities in the fields of organicagriculture, kindergarten education and hotel-restaurant management training inAn Giang province, said the company’s president Masaharu Hori.

During a working session with the Mekong Deltaprovince’s leaders on May 29, he unveiled that the company firstly wants toinvest in Tilapia and Tra fish rearing and vegetable growing in greenhousesfollowing the Aquaponics model, which he said allows quick detection ofdiseases and tracing of food origins.

Aquaponics refers to any system that combinesraising aquatic animals in tanks with cultivating plants in water in a symbioticenvironment.

Horimasa also holds advantages in kindergarteneducation as it is running 22 open and friendly kindergartens in Japan andother countries, Masaharu Hori said, adding that the company wants to buildJapanese-standard kindergartens in An Giang.

These facilities will be in line with Vietnameseconditions, serve local demand, and help reduce pressure on public investmentin education, he noted.

Lauding Horimasa’s interest in An Gianginvestment climate, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee LamQuang Thi suggested the group hold workshops on Aquaponics and transfer thetechnology to the province.

He vowed to create best conditions possible forHorimasa’s future projects in An Giang.-VNA
