Can Tho (VNA) – A group of 100Japanese entrepreneurs arrived at the Can Tho International Airport of theMekong Delta of Can Tho city on November 1.
They were carried by the first direct flightlinking Tokyo capital city of Japan with Can Tho city.
The charter flight with a total 120 passengers wasarranged by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry - Can Tho branch (VCCICan Tho), the Brainwork Asia from Japan and national flag carrier VietnamAirlines.
The passengers will participate in a celebrationof the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties and the fourthVietnam-Japan cultural and trade exchange programme, which will be held in CanTho city on November 2-4.
Vice Director of VCCI Can Tho Nguyen Phuong Namsaid Japanese firms are keen on seeking business and investment opportunitiesin the city and Mekong Delta provinces in the spheres of agriculture, industryand logistics.
Akihiro Okamoto, a member of the delegation,noted that Vietnam’s Mekong Delta is known for its agriculture, tourism andfood processing, while Japan boasts strengths in industry and informationtechnology.
The fourth Vietnam-Japan cultural and tradeexchange programme is projected to host 120 pavilions, including 90 introducingthe nations’ commercial products.
A series of activities will be held during theprogramme, including a photo exhibition on the Vietnam-Japan friendship, aforum on Japan-Mekong cooperation, and a ceremony announcing the establishmentof the Vietnam-Japan friendship industrial zone.-VNA
