Hanoi (VNA) - A captivating performance and an exhibition put on by Japanese calligrapher Aoyagi Bisen will take place this December at the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam.

The calligraphy performance will be held on December 21, during which Bisen will perform live, creating three calligraphy pieces symbolizing the enduring bond between Japan and Vietnam, reported Radio the Voice of Vietnam (VOV).

This is therefore a rare chance to witness the intricate transformation of calligraphy as the artist breathes life into traditional Japanese characters and recreates them in a new context.

Furthermore, an exhibition with the theme of “Calligraphy Beyond Boundaries by Aoyagi Bisen" will be organised at Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam at 27 Quang Trung street in Hanoi from January 4 to February 16, 2025.

Bisen is a young and talented calligrapher who is active both inside and outside of Japan. Notably, she has performed calligraphy in more than 10 countries.

Last year, she presented a calligraphic work commemorating the 50th anniversary of both nations' diplomatic relations , whilst she continues to present the new world of calligrꦓaphy under the theme of “tradition 𓆏and innovation"./.
