Hanoi (VNA) – Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe begins on January 16 a two-day visit to Vietnam, the lastleg of his first trip a▨broad in 2017.
Prime Minister Abe and his spouse arevisiting Vietnam at the invitation of his Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen XuanPhuc after touring three other Asia – Pacific countries – the Philippines,Australia and Indonesia. The visit reflects the importance thatJapan attaches to the extensive strategic partnership between the two countriesand reaffirms Vietnam’s view of Japan as a key partner in the long term. The two countries will work together tostrengthen political trust and push for further cooperation in various fields,including economy, trade, investment, official development assistance (ODA), aswell as agriculture, education, human resources together with adaptation toclimate change, labour, national defence and security.-VNA
Vietnam wishes to further deepen its economic cooperation with Japan, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung told outgoing Japanese Ambassador Tanizaki Yasuaki at a reception in Hanoi on September 17.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc expressed hope that his visit to Japan from May 26-28 will create new impetus to further strengthen the relationship between Vietnam and Japan.

During the negotiations, the US highly evaluated Vietnam’s goodwill and efforts, affirmed its appreciation for the bilateral relationship, acknowledged Vietnam’s proposals and concerns, and considered these an important basis for continuing discussions and moving towards a final agreement.
