Japan handles violators of regulations in receiving Vietnamese trainees

Japan’s authorities have withdrawn the operation licences of two Japanese organisations in charge of receiving foreign technical trainees after finding that they had illegally negotiated with Vietnamese agencies sending trainees to Japan.

Tokyo (VNA) –
Japan’sauthorities have withdrawn the operation licences of two Japanese organisationsin charge of receiving foreign technical trainees after finding that they had illegallynegotiated with Vietnameseagencies sending trainees to Japan.

Accordingto Japan’s Ministry ofHealth, Labour and Welfare (MHLW), the Japanese organisation in Chiba prefecture had reached a deal with and forced the Vietnamesepartner to pay a penalty of about 1,900 – 2,800 USD for the Japanese side ifany trainee tries to escape from the workplace.

Meanwhile, the Japanese organisation in Saitama prefecture hadstruck an illegal deal to receive kickbacks from a different Vietnamese agency.

The MHLW and the Ministry of Justice said these agreementsviolated the Japanese government’s technical intern training programme, whichprohibits accepting improper payments.

Accordingto Jiji Press of Japan,licensed organisations will be able to receive foreign technical trainees andintroduce them to related businesses. Organisations with licences revoked willnot be able to apply for new licenses within five years./.
