The Japanese Culture Days opened in the central province of Thanh Hoa onJanuary 6 as the first event of the National Tourism Year 2015.
Thesix-day event, taking place at the Lam Son Square and Theatre, beganwith an exhibition of 67 large-sized photos on Japan’s cultural heritagesites such as Nakagusuku Castle and the temples of Ninna-ji,Nishiongan-ji, Kofuku-ji, and Todai-ji.
Thirty Japanese dolls and 50 Yukatas, the country’s traditional pieces of clothing, are also on display.
Visitorscan also enjoy Japanese films and traditional drum and danceperformances while practicing drums and dances on their own.
TheJapanese Culture Days is co-organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sportsand Tourism’s International Cooperation Department, the JapanFoundation Centre for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam, and the ThanhHoa People’s Committee.
The National Tourism Year 2015, takingthe theme of “Connecting World Heritage”, is slated to be launched inMarch. It will run throughout the year across Thanh Hoa and also attractthe participation of 15 cities and provinces that house worldheritages, such as Hanoi capital and Phu Tho and Quang Ninhprovinces.
Other outstanding events include aninternational stone sculpture camp in May, a cuisine festival in June,and other festivals on historical individuals and events.-VNA
