Japan commends Vietnam’s business climate

Tokyo (VNA) – Approximately 1,600Japanese firms are operating in Vietnam as a result of the country’s efforts toimprove investment climate, said Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida.

He made the remark at a meeting withvisiting Vietnamese Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung inTokyo on April 14.

Highlighting that the Vietnam – Japanrelationship is at its best ever, Kishida asked the Vietnamese side to continuehelping Japanese investors by removing outstanding obstacles and difficulties.

Agreeing with his host on the developmentof bilateral ties, Minister Dung stressed that the changing global situation iscreating challenges along with opportunities for both nations.

He said his ongoing visit to Japan aims toconvey the Vietnamese Government’s appreciation for the support and cooperationfrom Japan, particularly its business community.

Vietnam wants to share new visions andorientations with Japan for the development of the bilateral comprehensivestrategic partnership, the official added.

Japan is currently Vietnam’s second biggestforeign investor with 3,355 projects worth 42.49 billion USD.  Most of these projects belong to the sectorsof manufacturing-processing, real estate, and electricity and water supply.-VNA
