IS threatens Malaysia’s counter-terrorism division

The self-claimed Islamic State (IS) has issued a threat against the counter-terrorism division of the Royal Malaysia Police, especially Ayob Khan, head of the division, according to the New Straits Times.

Kuala Lumpur (VNA)🎉 – Theself-claimed Islamic State (IS) has issued a threat against thecounter-terrorism division of the Royal Malaysia Police, especially Ayob Khan,head of the division, according to the New Straits Times.

According to Malaysian authorities, ISmilitants have called on their comrades in Malaysia to eliminate Ayob, who ISviews as its main threat in Southeast Asia. Intelligence sources revealed that such adirect threat, sent by Indonesian militants who pledged allegiance to IS, ishighly dangerous. Ayob said he was aware of the threat,adding that he had received many similar threats over the years. However, thisis the first time militants in Indonesia have issued a call to kill him. The head of Malaysia’s counter-terrorismdivision affirmed that Malaysian police will spare no efforts to ensure safetyand security of country and its people. Since February 2013, the division hasarrested 310 militants, including 21 Indonesians, and foiled 18 terrorplots.-VNA
