Vinh Long (VNA) – The International Volleyball Championship – VinhLong Television Cup wrapped up in the Mekong Delta province of Vinh Long onOctober 3, after six days of competition.
At the women’s category, VTV Binh Dien Long An won the firstprize after defeating Vinh Long Television 3-1 at the final match. ThePhilippines’ team ranked third.
Meanwhile, the Ho Chi Minh City team topped the men’scategory. The second, and third prizes came to the Long An team and the RoyalGendarmerie of Cambodia team.
The tournament attracted the participation of 10 teams (fivemale and five female). They played in a round-robin format, selecting the besttwo ones for the final game.-VNA
The 2018 Asian Women’s U19 Volleyball Championship, LienVietpostbank Cup, opened in the northern province of Bac Ninh on June 10 with the participation of 15 teams from the continent.

Vietnam national women’s volleyball team gained the fifth place at the sixth Asian Volleyball Confederation Cup for Women after trouncing the Republic of Korea (RoK) 3-0 at Chartchai Hall, Thailand on September 23.
This is the first time since the adoption of the Convention that a country has served two consecutive terms on the Committee. The outcome shows the trust and recognition that member states have given Vietnam for its efforts and achievements in carrying out and promoting the Convention, as well as for its active role, strong standing, and growing credibility at UNESCO.
