Hanoi (VNA) – The UNESCO, Canadian and Swiss Embassies in Vietnam have held the webinar “IN HER VOICE”, discussing measures to promotegender equality and supporting female filmmakers in Vietnam.

The event aimed to analyse and discuss the opportunities andchallenges of female filmmakers in the film industry; and share stories aboutthe journeys to attend international film festivals, access to cinema supportfunds, and priority prizes for female filmmakers.

IN HER VOICE is part of the “E-MOTIONS project: Mobilisingfilm professionals for regional cooperation” which is being conducted by UNESCOand cooperative partners, with the support from the Trust Fund of Japan. Theproject aims to enhance the capacity and empowerment of filmmakers, as well asorganise activities to connect domestic filmmakers with their peers in theregion.

Christian Manhart, UNESCO Representative in Vietnam,emphasised that the webinar is a great encouragement for filmmakers as theorganizers listened to their opinions and introduce job opportunities to them./.
