International Women’s Volleyball Tourney begins

Hanoi (VNA)🍌 - The 13th International Women’s Volleyball Tournament, also known as VTV Cup 2016- Ton Hoa Sen, will start in the northern province of Ha Nam on October 8.

Six teams will participate in the weeklong tournament: Indonesia, a Chinese youth-team, Japan’s Nagasaki, China’s Xuzhou Jiangsu, Thailand’s Chonburi and Vietnam.
The teams will play in a round-robin format to select the four semi-finalists. The event’s winner will receive a prize of 10,000 USD. The runners-up will get 7,000 USD and 5,000 USD, respectively.
Other individual prizes will be granted to the most valuable player, the most outstanding hitter, the best libero, and a special title for the tournament’s beauty queen. Vietnam has won the event four times, in 2007, 2009, 2010 and 2014. Last year, U23 Thailand was crowned champions after defeating Chinese Liaoning Brilliance Auto 3-1 in the final.-VNA
