International travel expo returns to HCM City in 15th edition

The 15th International Travel Expo HCM City (ITE HCMC), the largest travel event in the Mekong sub-region, opened its door to welcome tourism and travel community at the Sai Gon Exhibition and Convention Centre (SECC) on September 5. In his opening remarks, Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Tran Vinh Tuyen said this is a good opportunity to popularise Vietnamese people and culture to international friends.

The 15th International Travel Expo HCMCity (ITE HCMC), the largest travel event in the Mekong sub-region, opened itsdoor to welcome tourism and travel community at the Sai Gon Exhibition andConvention Centre (SECC) on September 5.

In his opening remarks, ViceChairman of the municipal People’s Committee Tran Vinh Tuyen said this is agood opportunity to popularise Vietnamese people and culture to internationalfriends.

After 15 years, the annual event has affirmed its prestige in the region, andattracted hundreds of exhibitors and tens of thousands of internationalvisitors, he added.

The ITE HCMC is certified as a national tourism event, held by the Ministry ofCulture, Sports and Tourism with the support of the tourism alliance of fivecountries (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam) in the Mekong Riverbasin.

This year expo, themed “Travel Gateway to Asia”, attracts 315 domestic and foreignbooths introducing excellent tourism products and destinations in Vietnam andother countries in the Asia-Pacific.

Particularly, the organising board arranged a special area for tourismstartups, and helped them seek investors and partners.

Ten seminars and forums are scheduled during the three-dayexpo on various topics such as medical tourism, solo travellers, smart tourismdevelopment in HCM City, Vietnam-Russia tourism cooperation, Vietnam-MiddleEast tourism cooperation, and startup tourism. Joining the activities, visitorswould find beneficial in keeping abreast of current travel trends.

As registration for the seminars and forums will go paperless, participants andvisitors should find more detailed information on website //tourismevents.vn/home.
