Interior decoration fair opens in HCM City

Ninety five Vietnamese and foreign companies are showcasing their products at the ninth Vietnam Furniture and Furnishing Fair (VIFA Home) that opened in HCM City on November 16.

HCM City (VNA) ꦰ- Ninety five Vietnameseand foreign companies are showcasing their products at the ninth VietnamFurniture and Furnishing Fair (VIFA Home) that opened in HCM City on November16.

VIFAHome has 410 booths displaying outdoor and indoor furniture for apartments,offices, restaurants, hotels, and resorts; handicrafts and home décor;household appliances; garden décor; gifts; and souvenirs. Alsopresent are companies offering consultancy on equipment, materials, design, andarchitecture. Accordingto the Handicraft and Wood Industry Association of HCM City (HAWA), one of the organisers, VIFA Home this yearhas attracted nearly 20 famous furniture exporters including Scansia Pacific, DucLoi, Nguyen Thanh, Royal Furniture, Square Home, Woac, and Furniture Maker, whoare selling their products in selective markets like the US, EU, Japan, and theRepublic of Korea. At theexpo, they are offering discounts to enable local consumers to buyexport-quality products at lower prices. Speakingat the opening ceremony, Huynh Van Hanh, deputy chairman of HAWA, said VIFAHome would be a good place for Vietnamese firms in woodworking and interiordecoration to promote their brands andfind business partners. Thefair would help connect woodworking and interior decoration firms in HCM City,Binh Duong, Dong Nai and other localities and create a complete value chainfrom production to distribution, he added. Consumptionof wood products increased by 8 percent on average in the last seven years toover 3 billion USD last year, partly thanks to increasing demand from propertyprojects, according to HAWA. Itforecast the domestic wooden furniture market to continue growing, especiallyin the medium and high-end segments. Theexpo will run until November 19.-VNA
