Intensive care centre for COVID-19 patients to be set up at Hanoi Medical University Hospital
The Medical University Hospital has been asked by the Ministry of Health to set up a 500-bed intensive care centre to improve readiness and capacity to deal with the COVID-19 spike in the country.

Hanoi (VNA) – 💟The Hanoi Medical University Hospital hasbeen asked by the Ministry of Health to set up a 500-bed intensive care centre toimprove readiness and capacity to deal with the COVID-19 spike in the country.
The Hanoi Medical University Hospital must promptly draw up aplan for the establishment of the intensive care centre, whichshould be submitted to the Health Ministry’s Department of Medical Examination andTreatment before 5pm on July 29, according to an official document issued byProf., Dr. Luong Ngoc Khue, Director of the departmen, on July 24.
The hospital must also make a report on the current condition of its existing intensive care unit (ICU) to the department no later than 8amon July 26, the officially document said.
The new centre will be provided with medical equipment for intensivecare, for examples, ICU beds, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) and highflow nasal cannula (HFNC) machines, and ventilators, by the Health Ministry./.
