Industry 4.0 technologies improve healthcare efficacy

Many hospitals in the country are using advanced industry 4.0 technologies to diagnose and treat ailments, helping improving healthcare, Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Truong Son said.

HCM City (VNS/VNA) - Many hospitals in the country are using advanced industry4.0 technologies to diagnose and treat ailments, helping improving healthcare,Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Truong Son said.

Some ofthem, such as artificial intelligence in cardiology, were presented at the 4th InternationalConference of Geriatrics and Cardiology held on July 13 and 14 at Ho Chi MinhCity’s Thong Nhat Hospital.

Bedless,virtual care hospitals were also discussed at the conference.

Son saidthe conference would update doctors on the latest techniques in treatingage-related diseases, adding: “Vietnam will become one of the countries with anageing population by 2025. It will have to face aged-related diseases.”  

Nguyen DucCong, Director of the Thong Nhat Hospital, said research into the effectivenessof new therapies for diseases like heart failure, diabetes, metabolic syndrome,and others were presented at the conference. 

"Thenew, non-invasive shock wave therapy is effective for patients with chronicischemic heart disease who cannot be operated on," he said, adding it isbeing used at his hospital.

Le BaoHuy of the hospital’s emergency department, said diagnostic testing hadprogressed enormously, with tests being done near patients’ beds instead of atlaboratories to quickly provide diagnostic results.

“Atemergency departments, such rapid testing, following the 4-hour rule foremergency care and putting patients first help reduce overcrowding and maketreatment more effective.”

Manyemergency departments are overloaded meaning patients need to wait, causingtheir condition to worsen, according to Huy.

Hishospital admits many seniors for emergency treatment with chronic and severeailments, many brought late.

Thedepartment staff face intense pressure to treat people during the golden hours.

Thedepartment has seen an increase in the number of patients. It admits 130patients daily, or 40-60 percent of all inpatients.-VNS/VNA

ജ Vietnam, France collaborate in vaccine production technology transfer

Under the agreement, VNVC and Sanofi will gradually implement technology transfers to enable domestic production of several key Sanofi vaccines that are widely used in Vietnam. In addition, Sanofi will support VNVC in training human resources and quality management in vaccine research and manufacturing.
