Hanoi (VNA) - Indonesian President Joko Widodo reshuffled his Cabinet onJanuary 17, the third timesince he took office in 2014.

🍌 Thistime, he appointed retiredarmy General Moeldoko, a former Defence Force commander, to replaced TetenMasduki as thenew presidential chief of staff. Some analysts say Moeldoko could be Widodo’s running mate in the nextpresidential election bid, while Masduki became the president’s special aid.

Besides, IdrusMarham, Secretary General of the Golkar Party, will be the new Social AffairsMinister, replacing Khofifah Indar Parawansa who resigned to run in the gubernatorialelection in East Java province slated for June. The appointment ofMarham also increased the number of Cabinet seats held by Golkar, the country'ssecond largest party, which has announced to back Widodo as presidentialcandidate next year. The Indonesian Presidentalso named Vice Marshal Yuyu Sutisna the new air force commander. Yuyu replacedMarshal Hadi Tjahjanto, who was recently appointed to be the new Defence Forcecommander. Most Cabinetministers were retained in the reshuffle. Widodo restructured his Cabinet twotimes back in August 2015 and July 2016.-VNA
