Jakarta (VNA) – Indonesian PresidentJoko Widodo hosted🅺 a reception in Jakarta on June 25 for J𝔉apanese Foreign AffairsMinister Taro Kono.

President Widodo thanked Japanfor its support towards Indonesia’s candidacy for a non-permanent member of theUnited Nations Security Council for the 2019-2020 tenure.

He said that after themeeting, Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi and Kono wouldhold a thorough discussion on the bilateral relationship.

The President also expressed his h𒉰ope that thetwo countries will enhance cooperation in the coming time.

Kono is on a visit to Indonesiafrom June 24-26 to commemorate the 60th founding anniversary ofJapan-Indonesia diplomatic relations. This is the first visit toIndonesia by Kono since he took office as Minister of Foreign Affairs in August2017. In addition to meetings withPresident Widodo and Minister Marsudi, Minister Kono is scheduled to haveworking sessions with Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut BinsarPandjaitan and ASEAN Secretary-General Lim Jock Hoi.-VNA
