Indonesian police smash plot to plant bomb in mosque
Police of Indonesia’s Central Kalimantan province have arrested a terror suspect, who had placed a homemade bomb inside the Nurul Yaqin Mosque, Kuala Pembuang, Pembuang Hilir, Indonesia’s Antara news agency reported.

Jakarta (VNA) – Police of Indonesia’s Central Kalimantan province have arresteda terror suspect, who had placed a homemade bomb inside the Nurul Yaqin Mosque,Kuala Pembuang, Pembuang Hilir, Indonesia’s Antara news agency reported.
Seruyan Police Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner Agung Tri Widiantoro said onMay 2 that HG, alias Iwan, aged 22, was detained at 4:20 am on May 2 (localtime).
“We faced no resistance while arresting the perpetrator at his residence in themorning, and he was immediately taken to the Seruyan Police Station to accountfor his actions," Antara quoted Widiantoro as saying.
The mosque's guard first spotted the bomb.
According to the video footage captured by the CCTV installed inside themosque, a young man in a T-shirt and dark shorts placed a bomb.
Another video capture showed Iwan riding a motorcycle and halting at a roadintersection after which he walked toward the mosque, the news agency reported.
After interrogating two witnesses, including the motorcycle’s owner, the policemanaged to arrest Iwan.
Commissioner Hendra Rochmawan, the Central Kalimantan Police’s spokesman, saidthe police will conduct an investigation to uncover Iwan’s motive.
Rochmawan called on local residents to report to the police whenthey see suspicious people./.
