Indonesia prepares five airports to serve ASEAN Summit

Indonesia's Transport Minister Budi Karya Sumadi has announced that Indonesia has prepared four alternative airports close to Komodo Airport to serve the 42nd ASEAN Summit and related meetings which will be held in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara early next month.

Jakarta (VNA) – Indonesia's Transport Minister BudiKarya Sumadi has announced that Indonesia has prepared four alternative airports close to Komodo Airport to serve the 42nd ASEAN Summit and related meetingswhich will be held in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara early next month.

These airports are I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali province, Lombok Praya Airport inWest Nusa Tenggara province, Sultan Hasanuddin Airport in South Sulawesi province, and El Tari Airport in East Nusa Tenggara province.

They will beused to as a place to park for planes of delegates to the Summit, andsupport other activities including customs, quarantine, and immigration, as well as parking areas for medicalhelicopters.

🤡 Minister Budi Karya Sumadi said Indonesia’s transport sectoris ready to support and contribute to the success of the ASEAN Summit as it did for the G20 Bali Summit in 2022./.
