The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) has nominated Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo as the party's candidate for the 2024 presidential election.

Jakarta (VNA) 🃏- The Indonesian DemocraticParty of Struggle (PDI-P) has nominated Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo asthe party's candidate for the 2024 presidential election.
PDI-P chairwoman MegawatiSoekarnoputri announced the nomination duringthe party's internal consolidation and Eid al-Fitr gathering at BatuTulis, Bogor City, West Java.
To nominate a presidential candidate, a party mustobtain at least 20% of the total seats in parliament or 25% ofvotes in the previous legislative election.
PDI-P is the only party that meets this criterion asit has 22.26% of the seats in parliament. Other parties must form a coalitionif they want to nominate a presidential candidate.
🍬 Observers acknowledged that the nomination of GanjarPranowo as the PDI-P candidate will affect Indonesian politics in the comingtime. The Governor of Central Java has also received positive public assessments through recent surveys.
