Indonesia launches ASEANpedia E-book

Indonesia’s Ministry of Communications and Informatics has launched the ASEANpedia e-book at //s.id/aseanpedia as part of activities during the country's 2023 ASEAN Chairmanship.

Jakarta (VNA) – Indonesia’s Ministryof Communications and Informatics has launched the ASEANpedia e-book at //s.id/aseanpedia as part of activit꧑ies during the 🍨country's 2023ASEAN Chairmanship.

Addressing the launching ceremony on April 10, Usman Kasong,the ministry's Director General for Information and Public Communication (IKP)said as the theme of Indonesia's ASEAN Chairmanship is ASEAN Matters: Epicentrumof Growth, this book is expected to provide understanding to the publicthat ASEAN is relevant to contribute to becoming the centre of the world'seconomic growth.

The official stated that ASEANpedia is not only forproviding knowledge about ASEAN, but also to instil an attitude within thepublic that ASEAN is relevant in contributing to geopolitics and geoeconomics. 

Usman hopes that the e-book can serve as reference forfinding information about ASEAN and Indonesia's Chairmanship of ASEAN in 2023as well as the successes of ASEAN both geoeconomically and geopolitically.

Theinformation provided is divided into three chapters, namely basic informationon ASEAN, Indonesia's role in ASEAN, and Indonesia's Chairmanship in 2023. It ispresented in two languages, Indonesian and English.

In the first section, ASEANPedia takes readers through thehistory of ASEAN, from the Bangkok Declaration, ASEAN Charter, membershiprequirements, its official song to the organisation's role in the world.

The second part of ASEANPedia writes about the contributionof Adam Malik, one the founder of ASEAN, Indonesia's role in reconciling variousconflicts inv🗹olving member states.

The third section explores things related to theIndonesian Chairmanship of ASEAN 2023, from the vision and mission, the meaningof the theme and logo, to the location of the Summit meeting./.
