Hanoi (VNA)꧃ – Indonesianeeds stricter measures to stop illegal fishing on its waters, said SusiPudjiastuti, Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries on January 17.

Indonesian authorities sunk 217foreign boats that illegally entered and fished in its waters last year,according to Pudjiastuti, saying that the policy has reduced illegal fishing. Indonesia is a large island countrywith about 17,000 islands. President Joko Widodo declared war against illegalfishing and instructed authorities to apply severe measures since he tookoffice in October 2014.-VNA
