Jakarta (VNA) 👍– Indonesia's state-owned aircraft manufacturer, Dirgantara Indonesia (DI), and Brazilian aerospace company Embraer have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to expand collaboration in the commercial aviation sector.
Gita Amperiawan, Director General of DI and a leader in Indonesia's aerospace industry, stated that under the MoU, both parties will conduct a joint study to explore opportunities for cooperation in commercial aviation, particularly in the fields of engineering and aircraft structures.
The partnership framework is built on stringent commercial and technical standards, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and business objectives.
This agreement marks a significant step in enhancing aerospace collaboration between Brazil and Indonesia. It aims to foster technological innovation and strengthen industrial partnerships among developing nations.
Rodrigo Silva e Souza, Embraer’s Vice President of Marketing, described Indonesia as one of the fastest-growing aviation markets globally. He emphasized that this partnership presents an opportunity to combine the expertise of both parties, enhance Indonesia’s aerospace capabilities, and expand domestic air connectivity.
Currently, the Indonesian Air Force operates A-29 Super Tucano aircraft produced by Embraer. Additionally, Embraer commercial jets are present in Indonesia, with Wira Jasa Angkasa (WJA) serving as the official service centre for Embraer commercial jets in the country./.
