Indochina cooperation to fight drug crime

Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia have signed the minutes of bilateral ministerial-level cooperation on drug prevention for 2013.

The minutes were signed in Hanoi on November 16 during the 12thTrilateral Ministerial Meeting on Drug Control Cooperation.

After the signing ceremony, delegates adopted a joint statement andorganised a press briefing on the outcomes of the meeting.

Participants voiced their concern on the complicated developments inregional drug crime, saying that it is a long-term battle with manydifficulties and challenges that requires concerned parties’ continuedefforts and strengthened cooperation.

The meetingagreed that cross-border drug prevention cooperation between Vietnam,Laos and Cambodia has increased, helping maintain politicalstability and contain cross-border drug offenses.

The 13 th Trilateral Ministerial Meeting on Drug Control Cooperation will be held in Cambodia, say organisers.-VNA
