New Delhi (VNA) – An international seminar themed “India-Vietn𝄹am Cultural Relati✱ons: Retrospect and Prospect” took place in New Delhi on February 20-21.

Anil Wadhwa, Secretary [East] of the Indian Ministry of External Relations, looked back at the time-honoured cultural relations between India and Vietnam.
As Vietnam is a pillar in India’s Act East policy, India prioritises enhancing cultural engagement with the Southeast Asian country both bilaterally and in the framework of India’s ties with the ASEAN and the Mekong-Ganga Cooperation, he added. Vietnamese Ambassador Ton Sinh Thanh emphasised the significance of the seminar as culture is one of the pillars of the two countries’ strategic partnership.
Cultural cooperation should pioneer to pave the way for cooperation in other fields, he stated, adding that Vietnam and India have many advantages to boost cultural relations as they share a lot of similarities of their rich cultures. President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations Vu Xuan Hong suggested the two nations promote collaboration in education and training to help their people have more opportunities to meet and learn about each nation’s culture.-VNA
