Tay Ninh (VNA) – A great hornbill, 💜scientificallyknown as Buཧceros bicornis, rare bird species on the endangered wild animalslist, was rescued in the southern province of Tay Ninh.
The bird, weighing 2.5 kilograms, was seized bythe Tay Ninh police while being illegally trafficked by a local resident onMarch 3. The case is being investigated and proceduresare underway to release the bird into the wild. According to the Tay Ninh Forest Management,the bird is listed in the Red Book of Vietnam and of the International Unionfor Conservation of Nature as “near threatened”.-VNA
