IBM helps Dong Nai in technology management, application

IBM Vietnam, a subsidiary of the US-based IBM Corporation, on May 12 started a programme providing consultancy and management support to the Department of Health and the Department of Science and Technology in southern Dong Nai province.

From May 12 to June 7, the firm willsend 11 employees from eight countries to Dong Nai to carry out theprogramme, which costs 250,000 USD, IBM Vietnam said.

IBM staffwill help the health agency improve the capacity of medical personnel inmanaging and promoting community health programmes and national diseaseprevention programmes through the use of information technology.

Atthe same time, the Department of Science and Technology will receivebetter data security systems at its centres for developing high-techequipment. Local staff will also be taught intensive data protectingskills.

Since 2008, the corporation has conducted 10 programmesproviding professional support to Quang Ninh province, and Da Nang, CanTho and Hai Phong cities, among others.-VNA
