Hung Yen (VNA) – The northཧern province of Hung Yen is determined to complete sit𓃲e clearance and hand over the ready ground on schedule so that work can start on the Lao Cai – Hanoi – Hai Phong railway project on December 19 as required by the Prime Minister, said Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Hung Nam.

Speaking at a recent working session with the Ministry of Construction on the survey of the route direction and scale of the line's section running through the province, Nam also proposed the ministry direct the consulting unit to consider adjusting the scale and boundaries of site clearance at some locations to suit the economic development orientation and planning of the province. The adjustments can help create favourable conditions for the province to efficiently capitalise on new advantages once the railway becomes operational, he noted. At the session, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Danh Huy spoke highly of Hung Yen's active implementation of the project.
He asked the province to urgently take the next steps to soon complete the site clearance work.Regarding the province's proposal, Huy requested the railway project management board and the consulting unit to carefully review and study the adjustment of site clearance boundaries at some locations. He also asked local authorities to promptly report on the capital need for the project implementation in the province so that the Ministry of Construction can submit a funding proposal to the Prime Minister for consideration. According to the Hung Yen provincial Department of Construction, a nearly-17km stretch of the Lao Cai – Hanoi – Hai Phong railway line will traverse Hung Yen.
The province estimates that the site clearance area is about 64.3ha in the first phase and 72.5ha for the whole section.Regarding the route direction, it is initially determined that when entering Hung Yen province, the route will bypass Pho Noi A Industrial Park and Lac Dao station of the Hanoi – Hai Phong railway line in Van Lam district. After crossing Provincial Road 385 and the Hanoi – Hai Phong line, it will run parallel to the current railway line to Dai Dong station in Van Lam.From Dai Dong station, the route will go to the right of the current Gia Lam – Hai Phong railway line, along Provincial Road 385. When reaching Luong Tai commune in Van Lam district, the route will go straight to the Southeast and separate from the current railway line to head to Hai Duong province./.
